Let’s Talk Posture

You can now produce notes on the guitar so let’s look at some of the basics of how to play.

We’ll talk about your fretting hand to start with, if you are right handed this is your left hand. Holding your hand palm up from left to right; finger (closest to your thumb) finger , finger and your little finger is finger .

Place your fretting hand on the guitar neck; hold the guitar neck with your thumb at the back and your wrist closest to the floor. Don’t put your palm on the back of the neck, this is bad posture, always use your thumb at the back. Create a V shape with your hand so you have space between the bottom of your hand and the guitar neck.
