C scale
We look at the scale of C. This is the simplest scale because C has all the whole notes, which is the same as all the white notes on a piano. C D E F G A B

Play the simple version of C scale.
We make the chord of C by taking the 1st 3rd and 5th notes of the scale of C and play them together.
So, C=1 D=2 E=3 F=4 G=5 A=6 B=7, we take the notes 1 3 5 = C E G. These notes make up the chord C major.
