Lesson Three

Introduction

In this week’s lesson we will be working towards playing ‘I’m a Little Tea Pot’, but don’t forget to read Ziggys Top Tip first!

Ziggy's Top Tip...

Fretting Hand Finger Placement

It’s important place the finger in the best position within each fret space. This will stop any buzzing noises and mean that notes ring out clearly.

The finger should be close to but not on the fret. When the finger is in position on the fret board avoid pulling and bending the string. This will change the pitch of the note.

Your fingertips will hurt at first but you’ll soon get used to it!

Things to think about:

• The position of the finger
• There are no buzzing noises
• The pitch of notes aren’t changing when you are pressing the fret

You’re now ready to give this week’s exercise and tune a go!

So go for it, Let’s Play Guitar!
