The Paradiddle

What is a paradiddle and why is it useful?

A paradiddle is one of the key drum rudiments in drumming. It is a combination of singles and double strokes designed to build a drummers dexterity and versatility when it comes to hand-to-hand co-ordination.

Now lets take a closer look at the word 'paradiddle':

pa - ra = parallel = R L or L R

diddle = double = R R or L L
